What is Bodywork?
The connection of the body to the soul restoring balance using various modalities (neuromuscular, myofascial, osteo-symmetry, etc.) and healing techniques to nourish all aspects of our being. Touch is an essential part of our makeup as human beings we are wired for connection. It is as vital to our existence as food, water, and breathing.
Bodywork helps us be present grounded in connection by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest), allowing the body to feel safe and relax. The breath slows down, heart rate and blood pressure decrease and stress levels drop. The body is more responsive to stimulus and adjusting patterns than we may realize.
We aren’t stuck with the genes are born with or even the injuries that have plagued us for years, lasting relief is possible! Every sensation and emotion (energy in motion) is translated into a muscular response contributing to our posture and patterns.
We remind the body the pathways of alignment which can result in more coordination, flexibility, mobility, and appropriate responses. An integrated mind/body helps increase self-awareness, boost immunity, resist disease and quickly repair itself when injured or stressed. The body is incredibly remarkable at healing itself!
Integrative bodywork sees the body as a whole – everything is connected to everything. The spiral patterns of our nervous system, the way we breathe, the compensating patterns, the emotions embedded in our muscles.
This goes far beyond temporary pleasure or relief focused on eliminating pain and improving function. By restoring balance a deep sense of relaxation occurs often lasting much longer than massage. It has the potential to alter conditioned responses, chemical balances and structural relationships. It all depends on you!
Consistent bodywork is a direct and effective way to increase self-awareness and create positive lasting relief.
